We at Koome Ministries wish to inform our followers of an incident that took place last night on Jan 26th, 2012 in Allegan Michigan. Kamal was invited to speak at various venues this week through out MI. Several organizations within MI came together to host this series of events. Last nights event was held at Allegen H.S. where meeting planner had contracted a rental agreement for this venue. During the event Allegan Police Chief came into the building and informed Kamal’s bodyguard that he was shutting the event down and everyone would have to leave. The Police Chief stated he had been told there was a fatwah on Kamal’s head and he was therefore, merely trying to protect the public. Approximately 125 attendees were asked to vacate the building. There was an immediate response form attendees shouting “what about freedom of speech” “what about our right of peaceful assembly.” All of the organizations who have come together as concerned Americans have since informed Kamal that they believe this was a clear demonstration of the violation of our Bill of Rights.

We at Koome therefore would like to clear the air with our account of THE FACTS as we know them: Kamal’s bodyguard was questioned by local authorities about an alleged 25 million dollar price on his head. he responded with… “NO one can verify or deny these claims and we certainly can’t put an amount to these claims. It is true Kamal has had several death treats from what we believe are Islamic extremist, but in our five years of speaking events representing Koome Ministries we have NEVER had an incident…not one!” He then tried to assure the Police Chief there is no cause for alarm. What we are questioning today is… was there some form of insider information? Information has come to us that the Police Chief had received a call from the CAIR organization. The truth remains to be seen; was the event shut down for public safety or was the politically correct attitude of “tolerance” or scare tactics applied to authorities by CAIR?

For those of you that know us, we Do Not fellowship with fear, (II Tim 1:7.) We will not be silenced; we will continue to work as unto the Lord with a message of TRUTH. Koome Ministries walks a fine line daily, trying with all sincerity to Dispel and Expose the media myths… Islam is a religion of Peace, Islam and Christianity worship the same God; while also sharing the TRUTH that every Muslim on the earth today, can come to the saving, transforming love of Jesus Christ. The differences in our God and the Muslim God, is Jesus died for us all, and we do not have to die for Him. We are not required by our Lord to die for His sake to receive all His promises. Our salvation and heaven are assured by Christ. What Muslims do not know is killing them and as Ambassadors of Christ, we all have a commission to Pray for them and reach out with the Gospel of truth to set the captives free. Our concerns are Big Picture, our Nation, our Constitution, our faith are all at risk. It will not be remedied until the spiritual problem this nation faces is addressed by the people. Christians in particular have a voice an opportunity, to Awake, Arise, Pray and take action! We are all in a position to make a difference individually and collectively.

Food for Thought: the following article has come to our attention through a friend to the Ministry and reinforces our concerns for our Bill of Rights. We ask you to read and weigh in with your opinion on our Facebook page.

On December 15, 1791 our forefathers ratified the Bill of Rights, a set of 10 amendments to the Constitution.  The Bill of Rights plays a key role in American law and government, and remains a vital symbol of the freedoms and culture of the nation.  The first amendment, Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion and Petition states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This past December, the U.S. State Department hosted a three-day, closed-door international conference to discuss implementation of Resolution 16/18 with members of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation).  If implemented, it will have a direct impact on the first amendment. If implemented, it will criminalize the criticism of Islam in America.  To read reports on this meeting click the following links for articles written by reputable sources:  The Investigative Project on Terrorism and Hudson Institute.

The OIC is the world’s largest Islamic Organization with 56 member states and the Palestinian Authority.  The OIC is the second largest intergovernmental agency behind the United Nations.  These nations typically vote as a bloc within the U.N.

By discussing the implementation of Resolution 16/18, the U.S. State Department immediately gives validity to the OIC's position. The OIC has attempted for the past 12 years to pass resolutions that would criminalize the ‘defamation of religions’, specifically Islam. There appears to be nothing in this that mentions criticism of Christianity or Judaism. Under the resolution, even if what you say about Islam is true, if it incites Muslims to violence, you could be held criminally liable. Unlike traditional U.S. defamation laws, truth would not be considered a defense.

The next meeting to discuss the implementation of this resolution will be held this spring in Europe. Many Europeans are already limited in what they can say because of ‘hate speech’ laws in their nations. The OIC nations already restrict speech so the resolution is meant to silence critics of Islam within western nations. Even if the U.S. does not implement the resolution, if Europe implements it, we would be faced with the possibility of it becoming international law.

There are many who are speaking about the ramifications of this resolution. One leader stated:
Christians need to be concerned regarding this measure because if implemented in the way the OIC desires, it would severely limit what Americans could say regarding Islam. This would include examining the beliefs of Islam, criticizing the prophet or any of the practices within Islam (including honor killings, forced marriages, etc.) or taken to its ultimate, yet logical conclusion proclaiming that ‘Jesus Christ is the Son of God’ since that would be considered blasphemy within Islam. Elected public officials need to be made aware of this resolution and the State Department's activities.
