Dates:

Ramadan in 2012 will start on Friday, the 20th of July and will continue for 30 days until Saturday, the 18th of August. Based on sightability of the moon in North America, in 2012 Ramadan may start in North America a day later - on Saturday, the 21st of July.

Muslims Focus:

1. Ramadan is one of the 5 pillars of Islam, a mandatory fasting for those who are able.
2. Its emphasis is to replace sins with good deeds, by fasting and praying and supplication.
3. The offering of Alms to the Muslims only (widows, fatherless, Jihad, etc.) it is obligatory to give 2.5% of one's savings every year. Zakat it means Alms its one of the 5 pillars of Islam and obligatory.
4. The Night of Power (Leyla Al-Qadr) is expected to fall during the last ten days of Ramadan: around August 9-18, 2012. The Muslims congregate on this night till sunrise with supplications for the forgiveness of their sins. The Islamic teaching is, to those who would encounter its light; all of their sins are forgiven and in some teaching can go to heaven without judgment…

Christian Focus:

Billions in the Muslim world will be fasting for 30 days from food, water and evil deeds, from sunrise to sunset; it is a challenge to Christians–especially since 9/11 and the treatment of Christians by Muslims globally. The word of God says” The fervent effectual prayers of the righteous man availeth much James 5:16”. Through prayer, fasting and supplication for the behalf of the Muslims worldwide “13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:13-14”.

Result:

Millions of Christian believers focus their prayers for the spiritual needs of Muslims, and for their encounter with the great “I AM” Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6”. Is it surprising, then, that during the years of the 30 Days Muslim Prayer Focus, there has been a conforming rise in the number of Muslims turning to Christ, with physical encounters dreams and visions of the living God! Pray God will call many more as Intercessors, Pastors, Priests and Churches (Rev 5-8) to change the world and to the advancing of His Kingdom!
